Importance of Vietnamese Fatherland Front

The  most well known feature of the  political scenario  of Vietnam  is that the  country  is  one of the  few countries  that  are called single party social republic.  The Social Republic of Vietnam is one of the most well known countries in Southeast Asia.  The country is well known to the world for its unique political scenario. Single party social republic means a country which has no opposition party present in the country.  The county is governed by the Vietnamese Communist Party.  Though there are no opponent parties in the country, there are however, several small political organizations.  The government of Vietnam from time to time take the help of these organizations  to run its operations smoothly. Vietnamese Fatherland  Front is  one of the  most  well known name  among these organization. It is  often described as  the political base of people's power.  The front has been  entrusted by the government of Vietnam with a number of  responsibilities.

Vietnamese Fatherland Front has a major role in  promoting  national  solidarity and unity of  mind.  Recently it  is also taking part  in  poverty reducing programs. It also plays  an  important  role  in deciding  government’s policies on religion of the country.  The front can  also decide which religious will get  official approval.

Most importantly, the Front is to supervise the activity of the government as well as of government organizations. The Front is based around mass participation and popular mobilization. As a result of this  it is seen as representative of the people. Both Vietnam's constitution and laws give it a special role. Vietnamese Fatherland Front has a particularly significant role in the elections. In order to be a candidate in the election an endorsement by the front is required. And it is a well known practice at the time of election.  Thus Vietnamese Fatherland Front is one of the most influential political organizations in Vietnam.
